At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I believe every expectant mother deserves to feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about her care. My birth advocacy support helps women and families throughout Tampa Bay navigate labor and delivery with confidence, knowledge, and a clear understanding of their options.
I recognize that Black, Indigenous, and other women of color (BIPOC) may face additional challenges in maternal healthcare, including disparities in outcomes, implicit bias, and concerns about not being heard or taken seriously. Instead, I help you feel confident asking questions, understanding the information presented, and making informed decisions that reflect your values and preferences.
Whether you're preparing for your first birth, navigating a high-risk pregnancy, or hoping for a more empowering experience after a previous difficult delivery, your voice matters.

Who Do I Support As a Birth Doula?
Every woman deserves to feel heard, informed, and supported during childbirth. Whether this is your first baby or you're growing your family, Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness provides personalized birth doula support that honors your choices, your voice, and your unique journey.
Is a birth doula helpful for first time moms?
Absolutely! A birth doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support to help first-time mothers feel more confident about childbirth. At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I help expectant mothers in Tampa, Florida prepare for labor, understand their birth options, ask informed questions, and navigate their first birth experience with confidence.
Whether you're planning a hospital birth, considering an epidural, or exploring natural childbirth, you don't have to figure everything out alone.
Can a birth doula help if I’m planning an epidural or c-section?
Yes! Birth doula support isn't just for mothers planning an unmedicated birth. Whether you choose an epidural or are preparing for a planned cesarean delivery, you deserve compassionate, personalized support.
At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I help mothers understand their options, prepare questions for their healthcare team, and feel confident in their birth decisions. From comfort measures and emotional reassurance to helping your partner feel involved, my support is tailored to your birth preferences.
For cesarean births, I can also help you prepare for what to expect before and after delivery, with support during the procedure when hospital policies permit.
Your birth choices don't determine whether you deserve support. Every birth matters.
How can a birth doula help me advocate for myself during labor?
Your voice matters during childbirth, and you deserve to feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about your care.
At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I help expectant mothers build the confidence to ask questions, understand their options, and communicate their birth preferences with their healthcare team.
I recognize that women of color may face additional challenges in maternity care, including disparities in maternal health outcomes and concerns about having their voices heard. My approach emphasizes culturally responsive support, informed decision-making, and respectful communication.
I also recognize that women whose first language is not English may experience additional communication barriers during pregnancy and childbirth. I encourage mothers to ask questions, request qualified medical interpreters when needed, and take an active role in decisions about their care. Every mother deserves to understand her options and have her concerns taken seriously, regardless of the language she speaks.
As your birth doula, I support you and your partner in advocating for your needs while encouraging collaboration with your medical providers—not conflict.
You deserve to be an active participant in your birth experience, not simply a passenger.
Do I need a birth doula if I’ve given birth before?
Every pregnancy and birth experience is different, even when you've done it before. A birth doula provides personalized emotional, physical, and informational support to help experienced mothers prepare for another delivery with confidence.
At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I support mothers who want a different experience this time, have concerns from a previous birth, or simply desire additional reassurance and guidance. Whether your last birth was smooth, challenging, or unexpected, your needs and preferences deserve to be heard and respected.
You may have given birth before, but you still deserve support every step of the way.
How can a birth doula support an unmedicated birth?
Planning an unmedicated birth? Having continuous encouragement, practical comfort techniques, and a trusted support person can help you approach labor with greater confidence.
At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I provide hands-on comfort measures, breathing and relaxation techniques, labor positioning, movement, and emotional reassurance to help you navigate contractions and the different stages of labor.
I also help your partner or support person participate confidently, creating a supportive environment where you can focus on your birth experience.
And if your plans change along the way, that's okay! My role is to support your informed choices without pressure or judgment.
Your birth plan is yours. My role is to support you through it.
Can a birth doula help if I’m feeling anxious or unsupported about childbirth?
Pregnancy and childbirth can bring excitement, uncertainty, and sometimes anxiety. Whether you're worried about labor, navigating pregnancy without a strong support system, or simply wanting someone who understands your concerns, you deserve compassionate support.
At Guiding With Grace Maternal Wellness, I provide a calming, reassuring presence throughout your birth journey. I listen without judgment, help you prepare for what to expect, and offer continuous emotional encouragement during labor and delivery.
Whether you're giving birth with a partner, family member, friend, or on your own, my goal is to help you feel supported, respected, and confident in your ability to make informed decisions.
